While we don’t have the strange creatures on land, diving at Coiba in Panama offers a few big advantages with the Galapagos.

Proximity
Traveling to Panama City takes almost have the time as a flight to Quito. And when you’re in Quito, you still need to take a flight with a local airline to get to the Galapagos which usually means an extra night hotel
Comfort & equipment
No diving liveaboard in the Galapagos offers the comfort and equipment as the Balboa Explorer. For advanced and technical divers, nitrox diving, the options at the Galapagos are limited.

Tailored to meet the needs of the advanced recreational and technical diver who can value a professional and well-equipped diving operation that takes no shortcuts when it comes to safety, we are moving the boundaries in SCUBA diving in Panama.

Our vessel will meet international (Lloyds Register and the British MCA) safety standards when it come to issues like stability and structural fire safety and is a true ocean capable vessel equipped with stabilizers. You’ll appreciate this feature especially when anchored out in the ocean swell around Coiba or at or on your way to Malpelo Island.

We will also be very rebreather friendly, pretty unique in this part of the world.
