At the Balboa Explorer, safety is an attitude. It starts with the design of our vessel. Unlike most liveaboards, our vessel was converted meeting international classification standards for passenger vessels, which is totally different from local regulations in most developing countries. Especially the use of fire-retardant material and fire alarm systems is how we distinguish ourselves. No simple wooden doors but fire proof doors with a thin wooden veneer covering.

Structural integretity of our hull is another feature. Several watertight compartments, accesible through water tight doors, assure everybody's safety, even if we hit an iceberg.

Redundant electrical systems , emergency lighting, there's too much to mention here but the bottom line is: you can sleep safely and enjoy our tours.
